A solar rooftop system is composed of a set of solar PV panels, Inverter, mounting structure mounted on the rooftop of a residential or commercial building, connected together to generate electricity by converting solar radiation into electrical energy.
In grid connected rooftop solar PV system, the DC power generated from Solar PV panels is converted to AC power using an inverter and is fed to the grid depending on the capacity of the system installed.
Such rooftop systems can be installed at the roofs of residential and commercial complex, industrial properties, housing societies, community centres, government organizations, private institutions etc.
There is a provision of Central Govt. Subsidy of 30% of the total cost under the Grid Connected Rooftop and an additional Gujarat State Govt. subsidy (maximum up to ₹20,000) for residential installations.
